Job summary

The Salvation Army Lafayette Store in Lafayette, LA is seeking a store associate to assist customers, process transactions, and keep the sales area clean and organized. You will ring up purchases, handle cash securely, issue receipts, and balance the till at shift end.

Responsibilities also include assisting with donations, answering questions about pricing and store policies, and ensuring every customer has a pleasant shopping experience in a friendly, retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ring up sales, handle cash, prepare receipts, and balance the cash drawer.
• Prepare and file sales records, tax forms, and social service vouchers; prepare routine sales reports.
• Maintain neatness and security of the cash register area; ensure stock and supplies are available.
• Explain store policy and assist customers with pricing and purchases to ensure a pleasant experience.
• Assist donors by directing to loading/unloading areas and providing tax receipts as needed.
