Job summary

RaceTrac in Florida is hiring a Store Associate to deliver prompt, friendly guest service and stock merchandise while following company policies. You may work part or full time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, handling transactions, preparing food safely, keeping areas clean and organized, and collaborating with the team to ensure a great guest experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • 1-2 years’ work experience in a guest-focused environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • May require local permits (food handler, alcohol server) depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and teammates with a smile and respond promptly to directions.
  • Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized store and food service area following safety standards.
  • Assist across store areas including food service, cleaning, stocking, and cash wrap.
  • Support safety protocols with proper chemical handling and labeling.
  • Respond to guest concerns and escalate to management when needed.

Job description

Job Description: As a Store Associate, you will provide prompt, efficient, and courteous guest service, follow company policies and procedures, and sell merchandise while delivering on RaceTrac’s mission of making people’s lives simpler and more enjoyable. This individual helps to maintain a clean, guest-friendly environment inside and outside the store. The role of Store Associate can be part or full time and hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Earn up to $15.50 per hour for select locations and shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests and teammates with a smile, responding promptly and courteously to both.
  • Respond promptly and respectfully to management directions, and be flexible and capable of working in all areas of the store, including but not limited to food service, store cleaning, cash wrap, and stocking shelves/coolers.
  • Prepares, handles, and serves food in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean and organized food service area, ensures proper storage and labeling of ingredients, and adheres to all food safety regulations to deliver a great guest experience.
  • Willing and able to clean all areas of the store, including breaking down food equipment and following established cleaning procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals.
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked, and backrooms and coolers are clean, well-organized, and maintained.
  • Operates the cash register efficiently and accurately, processes transactions, handles cash and card payments, and provides excellent guest service.
  • Ensures the register area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies while adhering to all cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, responding respectfully and compassionately while recognizing when to elevate issues to the shift manager.
  • Meet guest transaction expectations by managing line lengths and providing polite, clear, and prompt communication while responding quickly to requests.
  • Recognize the importance of following all written and verbal instructions to uphold food safety standards, including thoroughly cleaning preparation stations.
  • Proactively inform guests about promotional food items to raise awareness and drive product engagement.
  • Act in accordance with all RaceTrac policies, as well as federal, state, and local safety regulations, including those related to food safety Respond openly to feedback from guests, team members, and leaders, making necessary adjustments to enhance performance.
  • Be a reliable team player by arriving on time for scheduled shifts, supporting teammates throughout their shift, sharing important information, and working effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Engage with guests and teammates politely and respectfully, listening actively to their requests without interrupting.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed
  • Must have basic math skills
  • 1-2 years’ work experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred
  • Takes initiative
  • Can lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job
  • May be required to obtain and maintain food handler permit, based on local or state requirements
  • May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements
