Job Description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also responsible for promptly resolving customer concerns, ensuring maximum client satisfaction, staying updated on product features, and maintaining high-quality visual standards of the products and store. The role involves providing excellent customer service while consistently meeting sales goals.

The selected individual will work at Store #3157 located at 6605 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake, IL 60014, and may be asked to cover hours at nearby stores in Huntley, Lake in the Hills, McHenry, and Woodstock. This is a part-time role with a starting pay of $16.40 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Assist customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and recommending products
• Build trust-based relationships with customers
• Process sales transactions accurately
• Achieve sales goals regularly
• Maintain accurate work order files
• Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse
• Mix products to customer specifications
• Stock shelves and set up displays
• Clean store equipment
• Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks and deliveries
• Maintain a presentable store environment
• Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
• Follow inventory control procedures
• Suggest sales improvements

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 70 lbs occasionally, with or without accommodations
• Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
• Experience selling paint and related products
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, especially Spanish
