Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also responsible for promptly resolving customer concerns, ensuring maximum client satisfaction, staying updated on product features, and maintaining high standards of product quality and visual presentation.

The selected individual will be expected to work at stores within a 5-mile radius of Store #3195, located at 2705 N. Water St., Decatur, IL 62526.

This is a part-time position with a starting pay rate of $16/hr.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other valuables. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. Therefore, a review of criminal history is required to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship
• Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
• Experience selling paint and related products
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, especially Spanish
