JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: RETAIL
STATUS: FULL-TIME
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
  1. To provide customers with the best selection, exceptional service, and well-organized stores to offer spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs to those in need.
  2. Accountable for meeting store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
  3. Create a positive and mentoring environment for Beneficiaries (ARC rehabilitation program participants) through collaboration with program staff.
  4. Implement positive and effective Work Therapy Assignments (WTA) and keep Beneficiaries on track and focused on areas needing improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years retail management/supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
  • Basic understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid Driver's license, ability to pass MVR report, proof of insurance, access to a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to pass background checks including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, employees, customers, and donors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations including opening/closing, POS, inventory, donations, and merchandising standards.
  2. Manage store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Monitor performance indicators to drive sales and profitability.
  4. Schedule staff, oversee payroll, and ensure proper coverage.
  5. Assist in hiring, training, and developing staff.
  6. Communicate personnel issues and performance results; issue warnings and evaluations as needed.
  7. Ensure high customer and donor satisfaction and develop service improvement strategies.
  8. Support Back Room Processing and supervise Beneficiaries on Work Therapy Assignments.
  9. Protect store assets including cash, inventory, and property.
  10. Maintain store security during non-operating hours.
  11. Ensure safety protocols are followed and report incidents.
  12. Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's license required.
