The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program designed to assist men and women in completing our rehabilitation program. We value the contributions of our employees, who play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of our programs.

About Our Retail Team:

Join our dedicated Retail Team at The Salvation Army! Help us serve and impact our local community through our Canoga Park Thrift Store, which supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role offers an opportunity to promote a positive shopping and donor experience, improve customer service, develop problem-solving and teamwork skills, and contribute to the success of our program and its participants.

Position: Assistant Store Manager

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Store Manager, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Partnering with the Store Manager in daily store operations
  • Managing store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Providing coaching, training, and development to store employees
  • Maintaining good relations with customers, donors, and the community; resolving complaints efficiently
  • Communicating personnel issues to management and assisting with disciplinary actions, evaluations, and goal setting in coordination with HR and District Sales Manager
  • Maintaining merchandising standards and inventory levels
  • Overseeing back room processing (BRP) to meet processing goals
  • Safeguarding cash and banking procedures
  • Ensuring safety measures are established and maintained
  • Implementing loss prevention measures
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years retail management or supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in POS and cash handling
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Ability to pass background checks
  • Effective communication skills
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist
  • Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs
  • Repetitive motion tasks
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations
Schedule:
  • Stores operate 7 days a week
  • Work schedules are flexible and determined by management
  • Full-time employees may work evenings, weekends, and holidays
