Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) in Rosemont, IL to partner with the Store Manager on all store operations and to guide, develop, and motivate a team of brand advocates, ensuring an exceptional customer experience aligned with the brand values.

You will drive profitability and store standards through strong client focus, merchandising execution, loss prevention awareness, and compliant processes, while supporting training, hiring, inventory management, and daily

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, service, merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Experience developing staff through staffing, coaching, and counseling.
• Ability to process transactions via POS system.

Store Assistant Manager (F/T)

The Store Assistant Manager is responsible for working with the Store Manager on all store operations. The Store Assistant Manager plays a vital role in guiding, developing, and motivating a team of brand advocates to ensure an exceptional customer experience that aligns with the company’s brand values.

• Foster an environment of development and accountability.
• Process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Assist Store Manager in the selection and hiring of qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and occasionally perform work outside your specific role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services to address business goals and needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• . Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
