• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.

The Opportunity
Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases, and clean, fill, and rotate the self-serve displays in the bakery area. This position will also take special orders and work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. Additionally, the Bakery Clerk will help maintain cleanliness by hosing down the floors.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling, and serving food.
