Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and short correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. Assists customers, cleans shelves and display cases, and works with customers to take special orders. Collaborates with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., and stand, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods.

The environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store. Essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements. Certifications

Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all positions related to food preparation, handling, and serving.
