A leading provider of fuel maintenance services is seeking a Fuel Storage Tank Technician to maintain and repair refueling equipment across various locations including Pensacola. The technician will ensure compliance with industry regulations, perform necessary maintenance tasks, and occasionally travel for out-of-town assignments. Candidates must have relevant experience with fuel system maintenance and hold necessary certifications. This role involves conducting inspections and troubleshooting issues independently.

Job description

Title: Fuel Storage Tank Technician

Location(s): Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Pensacola, FL; Mobile, AL; Montgomery, AL (must be able to travel up to 1000 miles a week as needed)

Compensation: $25-45/hr (DOE)

Requirements:

  • Ability to drive up to 1000 miles a week and conduct daily DVIR inspections.
  • Ability to adapt to field conditions and requirements.
  • Perform monitoring certification, secondary containment, spill bucket testing, vapor recovery testing, and repairs per state requirements.
  • Submit daily work orders and project paperwork.
  • Occasional out-of-town stays are required.
  • Experience with UST/AST monitoring and fuel system maintenance equipment is required.

About: Service Technicians maintain and repair refueling equipment for the petroleum industry, including commercial, municipal refueling facilities, marinas, and airports. They ensure compliance with regulatory directives regarding storage and monitoring systems. The Technician works closely with client personnel, performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and acts as a representative of the company. They identify and document compliance and non-compliance issues, perform duties safely and professionally, and serve as Job Site Safety Officer, implementing safety policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Experience with UST/AST monitoring and fuel system maintenance equipment is required.
  • Current or prior ICC UST Service Technician certification.
  • 24 or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or current 8-hour refresher courses.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems independently.
  • Understand and comply with complex regulatory requirements.
  • Read and interpret machine diagnostic reports.
