Job Description:

We are seeking a Storage Sales Specialist. This is a US-based telework position, preferably in the Midwest.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for sales of storage products and solutions within assigned territory, industry, or accounts.
  2. Utilize advanced storage expertise to identify new customer value opportunities by expanding existing ones.
  3. Create and drive the storage sales pipeline, capturing leads outside of specialization and ensuring follow-up.
  4. Collaborate with account pursuit teams to leverage their solutions expertise for business development.
  5. Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curves through effective knowledge transfer in storage.
  6. Contribute to setting quota objectives and future direction for storage product lines.
  7. Coordinate sales activities related to pipeline hygiene with account managers, presales, channel partners, and stakeholders.
  8. Use internal sales tools effectively to maintain a healthy pipeline and account plan.
  9. Work across HPE teams to develop end-to-end solutions and account strategies.
  10. Assess solution feasibility from technical and business perspectives to qualify opportunities.
  11. Negotiate and close profitable deals, ensuring a high win rate.
  12. Drive sales of the storage portfolio through leadership and initiative in prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals.
  13. Establish professional, consultative relationships with clients, including C-level engagement for mid-to-large accounts.
  14. Leverage industry knowledge and competitive insights to position HPE solutions strategically.
  15. Work with channel partners to build relationships, provide enablement, and co-sell to end-users.
  16. Lead and coordinate storage marketing campaigns to ensure successful launches and sustained momentum.
  17. Act as a trusted storage solutions consultant for assigned accounts/regions.
  18. Communicate HPE’s strategy and portfolio to partners and champions to uncover new opportunities, including new logos.
  19. Use references to craft compelling stories that simplify complex technologies for customers.
  20. Generate customer interest by linking business/financial benefits with technology offerings, illustrating ROI & TCO advantages.
  21. Maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure retention and growth, positioning HPE as the preferred vendor.
  22. Support deal closure collaboratively with internal stakeholders and channel partners.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven achievement of higher quotas and experience with diverse business customers.
  • Typically 6-10+ years of sales experience.
  • Experience in storage sales for 2-3+ years.
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge.
  • Project management experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 5-8 years of selling experience with major storage companies (Dell/EMC, Pure, NetApp).
  • Established relationships with at least 5 major customers in the territory.
  • Expertise in indirect channel sales models.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one major storage vendor’s offerings.
  • Experience selling complete data lifecycle management solutions.
  • Deep expertise in verticals like FSI, manufacturing, or healthcare.
  • Ability to perform hands-on demos of past portfolio solutions.
  • Self-starter capable of rapid ramp-up.
