Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an onsite Storage Engineer to join a government consulting firm supporting a mission-critical federal program based in Fort Belvoir, VA. The role focuses on ensuring data availability, infrastructure reliability, and operational continuity within a highly secure enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of storage infrastructure experience (SAN/NAS), a Bachelor's degree, experience with replication, snapshots, RAID, LUN management, and strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage environments.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
• Experience with replication, snapshots, RAID, storage provisioning and LUN/volume management.
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows servers with attached storage.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot storage and server platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise data storage infrastructure for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams on protection initiatives and storage architecture.
• Investigate and resolve storage outages impacting availability or performance.
• Support lifecycle management: capacity planning, upgrades and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and monitoring.
