Job summary

Autonomai Recruitment is seeking a hands‑on NetApp ONTAP engineer to own the storage layer for trading workloads. You will operate and optimize FAS/AFF/C‑Series in primary and DR sites to deliver sub‑millisecond latency and high IOPS.

You will architect SAN/NAS, manage volumes and LUNs, and implement replication strategies while collaborating with network, systems, SRE, and trading teams in a fast, 24/5 environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years enterprise storage engineering.
• 3+ years NetApp ONTAP Cluster‑Mode (9.x).
• Deep hands‑on with FAS/AFF/C‑Series, SAN/NAS (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
• SnapMirror/SnapVault/Snapshots/Clones and dedupe/compression.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement NetApp SAN/NAS for trading engines, market data, research clusters, and core services.
• Provision and manage volumes, LUNs, SVMs, aggregates across production and DR.
• Tune storage for latency‑sensitive workloads: queue depths, multipathing, NFS/SMB options, zoning.
• Implement SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapLock, snapshots, clones; own backup integration and DR testing.
• Automate provisioning, reporting, and ops tasks using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or NetApp APIs.
• Monitor performance/capacity via OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, Insight; resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with network, systems, SRE, and trading tech in a 24/5 environment.

Role Overview

Hands‑on NetApp ONTAP engineer to own the storage layer for trading, market data, research, and core platforms. You’ll operate, and optimise FAS/AFF/C‑Series in primary and DR sites, ensuring sub‑millisecond latency, high IOPS, and zero‑downtime for trading‑critical workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement NetApp SAN/NAS (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB) for trading engines, market data, research clusters, and core services.
• Provision and manage volumes, LUNs, SVMs, aggregates, and related objects across production and DR.
• Tune storage for latency‑sensitive workloads: queue depths, multipathing, NFS/SMB options, FC/iSCSI zoning, host‑side tuning.
• Implement SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapLock, snapshots, clones, and replication to meet RPO/RTO targets; own backup integration and DR testing.
• Automate provisioning, reporting, and ops tasks using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or NetApp APIs.
• Monitor performance/capacity via OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, Insight, and custom dashboards; proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Work with network, systems, SRE, and trading tech on end‑to‑end design, incidents, and change management in a 24/5 environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years enterprise storage engineering, 3+ years on NetApp ONTAP Cluster‑Mode (9.x).
• Deep hands‑on with FAS/AFF/C‑Series, SAN/NAS (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB), SnapMirror/SnapVault/snapshots/clones, dedupe/compression, FlexVol/FlexGroup.
• Strong SAN fabric knowledge (Brocade/Cisco MDS, zoning, VSANs, multipathing).
• Solid Linux/Windows storage admin and performance tuning.
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Comfortable in a 24/5 trading environment with on‑call/rotation.
