Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Storage/Database Lead Engineer to join our national intelligence program in Northern Virginia. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and sustaining complex database storage solutions with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and modernization.

The candidate will lead database teams, mentor staff, and collaborate across technical and program management disciplines to deliver resilient data platforms for critical missions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to pass a Polygraph check.
• Minimum 12 years of experience with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; field related degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Strong problem solving and QA methodology knowledge.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize computerized database systems supporting the customer infrastructure.
• Maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases; tune performance.
• Review designs, perform backups, and recommend improvements.
• Enforce security and integrity controls; define policies and standards.
• Administer MSSQL Server and other DBMS; write SQL procedures and triggers.
• Oversee project scheduling, backups, replication, and inter-site data transfer.
• Develop and maintain high-level reporting with SQL and Crystal Reports.
• Support DBaaS modernization and platform upgrades; provide technical reviews.
