JOB DESCRIPTION

VLCM is looking for an experienced Storage and Data Protection Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, implement, and support enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and data protection solutions for our customers.

This role will have two strong areas of emphasis: EverPure storage solutions and Cohesity data protection technologies, with the engineer serving as a key technical resource in each area. The position will work directly with customers, as well as VLCM's sales and engineering teams, throughout the solution lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience with enterprise storage and data protection environments and is comfortable working directly with customers, from technical discovery and solution design through implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support. While EverPure and Cohesity will be important areas of focus, this role will also work across other storage, backup, virtualization, and data center technologies based on customer needs.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
  • Design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise storage and data protection solutions, with a strong emphasis on EverPure storage solutions and on Cohesity data protection technologies.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure, business requirements, workloads, performance needs, and data protection objectives.
  • Architect storage, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Perform implementations, migrations, upgrades, expansions, and optimization of storage and data protection environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex storage, backup, recovery, performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Work closely with VLCM Account Managers, Solution Architects, and other engineering resources during the pre‑sales process, including solution design and technical validation.
  • Develop scopes of work and assist with estimating the engineering effort required for customer projects.
  • Provide technical demonstrations, presentations, and proof‑of‑concept support when needed.
  • Follow vendor and industry best practices for data protection, resiliency, security, and infrastructure design.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of EverPure and Cohesity solutions and stay current on new products, features, best practices, and certifications.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise across additional storage and data protection technologies supported by VLCM.
  • Document customer environments, configurations, project work, and recommended solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and take ownership of technical issues through resolution.
  • Collaborate with other VLCM engineers across data center, virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise storage and/or data protection technologies.
  • Experience with EverPure storage solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Cohesity data protection, backup, recovery, and related technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise storage and data protection solutions.
  • Strong understanding of storage concepts including SAN, NAS, block, file, replication, snapshots, deduplication, compression, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience working with virtualization platforms such as VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V.
  • Understanding of networking concepts relevant to enterprise storage and backup environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, storage, backup, and performance issues.
  • Ability to work directly with customers and clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • A customer‑first mindset and willingness to take ownership of problems through resolution.
  • Relevant EverPure, Cohesity, or other storage and data protection certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working for a VAR, systems integrator, MSP, or technology consulting organization is preferred.
