Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Storage Administrator to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers and storage systems. This position will be located in Radford, VA and will be a remote position.

Responsibilities

Senior Storage Administrator for a mixed and growing environment of various storage hardware. This position will work with the existing OS and Storage teams to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers and storage systems for the program and its customers. This position will assist with implementing new system hardware and software and provide input for developing local operating procedures and policies as needed. This position will monitor the ongoing operation of the systems and provide utilization reports using existing tools to identify problems and corrective actions as needed. The role may include recommending, demonstrating, and implementing technologies to help expand, upgrade, and increase efficiencies in the current environment.

Qualifications

High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)

  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • CompTIA Security+ and Computing Environment (CE) Certification (i.e., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, RedHat, Palo, etc.) – can be waived for 30 days after project join date
  • Experience in Computer Science or IT
  • 3+ years of experience in design, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems
  • 3+ years' experience maintaining storage and network policies and standards
  • 3+ years' experience refreshing data from one environment to another at the request of the application development staff
  • 3+ years' experience creating, maintaining, and following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution
  • 3+ years' experience with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments
  • 3+ years' experience administering applicable storage networks
  • 3+ years' experience with VMware 7.x or greater
  • 3+ years' experience with network communication (IP based)
  • Installation and configuration experience of backup software with Windows Server 2019, Solaris 11, RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher
  • Experience with both Windows PowerShell and Bash shell scripting
  • Strong CLI skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting Cybersecurity patch management and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), SRG, RMF, SCA-V, and Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
