Berkley Accident and Health, part of W. R. Berkley, invites applications for a Stop Loss Underwriter. You will analyze risks, learn from Clinical Underwriting, and collaborate with sales, actuarial and claims teams to expand the captive business.

This role offers either full remote work (if outside commuting distance) or a hybrid setup in Hamilton, NJ, with four days in the office and one day remote as warranted. Competitive compensation and robust benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive Stop Loss Underwriting experience.
• Understanding of stop loss market dynamics and risk management concepts.
• Strong math, communication and negotiation skills.
• Time management to handle a large case load during peak production cycles.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and select risks based on underwriting criteria and guidelines.
• Develop underwriting acumen by training with Clinical Underwriting staff.
• Collaborate with departments and management to review complex cases.
• Report to Underwriting Manager and coordinate with cross functional teams.
• Work remotely or hybrid in Hamilton, NJ with 4 days in office and 1 day remote where appropriate.
