Job summary

The Gallegos Corporation is seeking a Stone Mason for the Roaring Fork Valley area in Aspen, CO. This full-time masonry position requires safe, high-quality stone work on distinctive projects, with production standards directed by foreman. 5+ years construction or masonry experience and ability to work with stone are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' of construction or masonry experience.
• A Mason must be able to work with stone and lay it to project specs.
• Work safely and meet productivity specifications as directed by foreman.

Responsibilities

• Shapes stone in preparation for final setting with chisels and/or power saws.
• Align stone with plumbline and finish joints with pointing trowel.
• Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with clamps, anchors, torch, or cement.
• Mix mortar and spread over stone and foundation; set masonry in place by hand or with forklift/crane.
• Participate in daily huddles and prioritize safety on all job sites.

What Gallegos is Looking For...

A Mason must be able to work with stone completing custom work on distinctive projects. Masons need to have above average skill and speed in laying stone. A Mason is required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent.

Duties & Responsibilities...

• Shapes stone in preparation for final setting with use of chisels and/or power saws.
• Align stone with plumbline and finishes joints with pointing trowel.
• Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement.
• Mixes and spreads mortar over stone and foundation with trowel and sets masonry in place by hand or with aid of a forklift or crane.
• Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as priority on all job sites.
• Models The Gallegos Corporation mission and values at all times.
• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
• Minimum of 5 years' of construction or masonry experience.
