Job summary

Coldspring is seeking a full-time CNC/machine operator to support production on weekend shifts. The role involves operating a range of stone-processing equipment, from saws to CNC mills, and requires cross-training to cover multiple areas as needed. You’ll read tickets, inspect stones, and apply finishing techniques while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The job offers comprehensive benefits and a weekend differential. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification is required.
• General computer skills, mechanical aptitude and math skills are needed.
• Knowledge of software to program CNC, milling and turning machines (CAD/CAM, 3D modeling) is required.
• Ability to read work orders or production tickets.
• Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
• Good color perception is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect stone for quality and appearance against specifications.
• Read production tickets to determine work to be completed.
• Review work during production to ensure specs are met including use of patterns and measuring tools.
• Apply stone tolerances to repair, mill, cut, and assemble per customer specs.
• Use cranes to load/unload work from machines.
• Level, brace, secure, wedge and clamp stone to meet safety requirements.
• Index saw blade to correct size and dimension based on stone.
• Operate, maintain and program wire saws.
• Set up and finish project components using correct techniques.
• Apply epoxy and bonding to join stones and materials.
• Load, set, and operate polish machines with cranes.
• Install and program patterns into automated machines.
• Set up, operate and maintain CNC stone mills.
