Job summary

Valley Metro RPTA is seeking a warehouse associate to maintain a stocked, safe, and organized stockroom by performing inventory management and by receiving and distributing materials.

The regular work schedule for this position is 3rd shift, 9:00 PM-7:30 AM, Wednesday through Saturday (4/10 hour shifts). Training occurs on 1st shift, 5:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; no experience necessary.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and safe driving record.
• Must obtain forklift operator’s card within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Properly store, label and organize materials.
• Monitor and complete inventory counts and update records.
• Receive deliveries and verify quantities against orders.
• Distribute materials and communicate out-of-stock items.

Purpose of Role

Summary

The regular work schedule for this position is 3rd shift, working from 9:00 PM-7:30 AM, Wednesday through Saturday (4/10 hour shifts).

The Training Schedule for this position is during 1st shift, working from 5:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

The full hourly range for the position is $21.23- $31.84 per hour with an anticipated starting salary between entry ($21.23) and midpoint ($26.53) of the range. It’s essential to note that the actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, training and internal equity considerations.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED and no experience required;

• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
• Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

Licenses And Certifications

Valid Arizona Driver's License and a safe driving record

• Basic understanding of safety and cleanliness standards in stockroom operations.
• Fundamental awareness of stock and material status communication practices.
• Using a computer and related software.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Work is performed in a shop setting with routine use of standard shop equipment. This role requires medium physical exertion; exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.

This role typically requires sitting, handling, fine dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, speaking, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, bending, climbing, reaching, twisting, crouching, balancing, crawling, noisy/distracting environment, time pressure, tedious or exacting work, changing of tasks, multi-tasking, emergency situation, irregular work schedule/overtime, noisy/distracting environment and working with others on a team.

This role also experiences daily exposure to mechanical hazards, respiratory hazards, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, noise and vibration and physical hazards; monthly exposure to chemical hazards; and seasonal exposure to communicable diseases.
