Job summary

Woodgrain is seeking a Warehouse Stocker/Material Handler in Auburn, WA to receive, store, and issue materials from stockrooms and yards. You will read schedules, count stock, and prepare items for shipment while maintaining accurate records and complying with safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and forklift certification. Prior warehouse experience is a plus, and candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Must be forklift certified.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or by using a computer.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies.
• Store items in an orderly manner in warehouses, tool rooms, and storage areas.
• Mark stock items using identification tags or marking tools to ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain safety by cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, and storage areas.
• Determine proper storage methods and stock location based on turnover and facilities.
• Keep records on the use and damage of stock and equipment.
• Inspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damage.
• Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom or warehouse workers.
• Operate hand truck or forklift to move items to plant or pickup locations.
