Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking a Merchandiser to support store operations, maximize product inventory, and assist with online orders and curbside pickup. The role includes stocking, displays, signage, and partnering with store management to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Internally referred to as Merchandiser, you will participate in wine, spirits, and beer training, learn promotions, and follow safety policies while ensuring compliant store operations and accurate inventory handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in retail preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise products, process freight, and stock merchandise.
• Build displays and end caps, place signage, and manage inventory.
• Fulfill online orders and support in-store and curbside pickup and delivery.
• Assist with in-store sales and customer service as needed.
• Greet customers and educate them about products and services.

About the role

All Store Team Members play an essential role in building our company brand by delivering excellent customer service. You will maximize product inventory and support online business operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

While both part‑time and full‑time positions generally focus on merchandising responsibilities, you may also be assigned sales, front end or other responsibilities as needed. Internally, you will be referred to as Merchandiser and report to the store management team.

You will maximize product inventory, including processing freight, organizing and distributing inventory, pulling and stocking merchandise, building displays and end caps, placing signage, and supporting digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in‑store and curbside pick‑up and delivery services, including driving and making deliveries if assigned.

Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services. Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge. Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.

Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment. Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws – if delivery is added as an essential job function.

If this job posting is coded as a seasonal role above, you can expect this position to be short term, no longer than six months, and you will have the option to apply for a non‑seasonal role.

You will come with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: 1‑3 years of experience, 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software. Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements (with or without accommodations) Must be 21 years of age or older. Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8‑10 hours a day. Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets. Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly. May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.

Compensation

Worker Type: Regular.

Pay Range: $12.72 - $17.81 Hourly.
