Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking Store Team Members to support merchandising, inventory, and online orders, with duties including stocking, building displays, signage, and curbside pickup. Employees are referred to as Merchandiser and report to store management.

You will greet customers, provide product knowledge, participate in wine, spirits, and beer training, and help maintain safety, promotions, and compliance with alcohol laws. This role may involve occasional deliveries and seasonal shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience; retail experience preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Walk/stand for 8–10 hours; capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maximize product inventory, process freight, stock merchandise, build displays and end caps, and support digital orders including curbside pickup and delivery.
• Greet customers, build relationships, and inform about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness; ensure compliance with alcohol laws.
• Load and deliver orders safely as needed; assist with other duties as assigned.

About the role

All Store Team Members play an essential role in building our company brand by delivering excellent customer service. You will maximize product inventory and support online business operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience. While both part-time and full-time positions generally focus on merchandising responsibilities, you may also be assigned sales, front end or other responsibilities as needed. Internally, you will be referred to as Merchandiser and report to the store management team.

• You will Maximize product inventory, including processing freight, organizing and distributing inventory, pulling and stocking merchandise, building displays and end caps, placing signage, and supporting digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up and delivery services, including driving and making deliveries if assigned


• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services


• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge


• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs


• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store


• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment


• Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned


• Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws - if delivery is added as an essential job function


• If this job posting is coded as a seasonal role above, you can expect this position to be short term, no longer than six months, and you will have the option to apply for a non-seasonal role

Qualifications

• You will come with High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• 1-3 years of experience, 1+ years of experience in a retail setting preferred


• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software


• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends


• Physical requirements (with or without accommodations)


• Must be 21 years of age or older


• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day


• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets


• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly


• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
