Position Overview

A Stocker is responsible for stocking merchandise in a retail space. They receive and distribute merchandise throughout the store, display it in accordance with procedure, and take inventory of stock regularly. They're also responsible for performing customer service duties. The Stocker works fairly independently but they're usually under the supervision of either a department manager or a store director.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Shelf Stocking: Receive and distribute merchandise throughout the store, face items forward, and maintain clean display shelves.

• Inventory Rotation: Observe FIFO product rotation, check expiration dates, and report damaged/expired goods.

• Stockroom & Recycling: Maintain orderly stockrooms, break down cardboard boxes, and operate cardboard bailers.

• Customer Assistance: Help shoppers locate products, answer basic inquiries, and keep aisles clear of hazards.

Qualifications & Position Requirements

• Detail-oriented and organized with basic math skills.

• Ability to lift 35 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

• Flexibility to work variable schedules.
