Job summary

Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is seeking a Merchandiser Lead to support the Merchandising Supervisor in training and coaching the merchandising staff and to help merchandise accounts as needed. The role includes leading onboarding, supervising field activities, and ensuring safe, efficient store coverage.

Ideal candidates will have merchandising leadership experience, the ability to train others, and flexibility to work Fri-Tues with early start times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with at least one year of related work experience.
• Prior merchandising and leadership experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain PIT certification upon hire is required.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance; clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Trains new and existing merchandisers in standard merchandising activities and procedures; conducts onboarding and retraining sessions.
• Acts as point of contact for Merchandising Supervisor on days off; handles calls, schedule changes and customer concerns.
• Monitors daily merchandising activities in Pace using an iPad while in the field.
• Conducts weekly audits and check-ins with merchandisers.
• Covers open merchandiser routes and fulfills daily activities as needed.
• Ensures safe working techniques and equipment use; reports unsafe conditions; complies with company policies.

Days/Hours of Work: Fri-Tues/ Wed/Thur off; 5 am start time.

Job Summary

The Merchandiser Lead works with the Merchandising Supervisor to assist in the development of the merchandising staff by providing training and coaching. The Merchandiser Lead will be scheduled to merchandise accounts as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Trains new and existing merchandisers in standard merchandising activities and procedures. Conducts onboarding training with new hires and any retraining programs, as necessary. Conducts capability-building sessions and provides performance feedback to merchandisers.
• Serves as the point of contact for Merchandising Supervisor on their days off. This includes fielding calls from the merchandising team, schedule changes, and handling customer concerns.
• Monitors daily merchandising activities in Pace while in the field using an iPad.
• Conducts weekly audits in stores and weekly check-ins with merchandisers.
• Covers open merchandiser routes and fulfills daily activities completed by a merchandiser as needed.
• Ensure teammates receive proper safe working techniques in the trade and that they have the proper equipment. Identify and report any unsafe working conditions. Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred and minimum of one year of work experience required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in grocery, retail, warehouse, manual labor, or related field is required.
• Prior merchandising and leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience using equipment such as pallet jacks and high loader lifts preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) certification upon hire is required.
• Basic computer application and technology skills; knowledge of how to operate a smart phone, iPad and/or laptop.
• Flexibility with work hours; able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays due to customer needs.
• Valid Driver's License, current vehicle liability insurance, driving record within policy guidelines including no major violations within the last three years.

• Lifting: Frequent- Lift 40 lbs. or less (full cases of product)
• Pushing/pulling: Frequent use of manual carts
• Driving: Frequenttravel between customer locations

Pay:$20.00 an hour
