Position Overview

As an Operations Generalist, you will ensure the execution of merchandising and inventory strategies across the Pet Care Center, utilizing Petco processes. Your role is vital in maintaining efficient operations to meet guest and pet needs. Responsibilities include working the truck, stocking shelves, cleaning, operating the cash register, and providing excellent guest experiences. Success in this role requires a passion for animal welfare and a positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage inventory across the Pet Care Center.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed appealingly.
• Process transactions efficiently to enhance guest experience.
• Support guest interactions and support sales models.
• Support animal health and welfare procedures.
• Complete training to stay knowledgeable about your role.
• Promote teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Follow operational policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
• Handle guest inquiries and refer to leadership when needed.

• Utilize selling behaviors to enhance guest experience.
• Maintain a safe environment for guests, pets, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant experience.
• Proficiency in mathematics and communication skills.
• Genuine interest in animals and their care.
• Strong interpersonal skills for public and team interactions.

Skills and Education

Proficiency in basic accounting and excellent communication skills are required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Work Environment

Primarily indoors; some outdoor activity for stocking and receiving merchandise. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and be flexible with schedule, including evenings and weekends.
