Job summary

Pueblo Water is seeking a Warehouse Stocker to support its Transmission Distribution & Engineering Divisions. You will receive and distribute materials, assist fleet maintenance, and help maintain water system inventory and records.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading, operating forklifts, and helping with meter services by wiring, sealing, and reading meters. A safety‑minded candidate with basic math and reading skills will fit well in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colorado Class R driver's license required.
• Colorado Class 1 Water Distribution Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• OSHA Forklift Operator Training certificate or ability to obtain within probation.
• One year related work experience; equivalent education accepted.
• Basic math and reading skills; ability to operate computers and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist Stocker with distribution of materials and parts to Pueblo Water employees and contractors; maintain related records and generate requisitions.
• Flush water mains, fire hydrants, service lines and appurtenances as assigned.
• Accompany Scrap Dealer to the Scrap Yard to verify weight and sign weight slips.
• Receive and inspect materials; store in warehouse and report discrepancies.
• Load and unload materials; operate forklifts of various sizes.
• Maintain warehouse facilities and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist Meter Services by wiring, sealing, and reading meters in stock as required.
• Operate Pueblo Water vehicle as needed; may deliver materials to field locations.

Job description

Performs a variety of tasks to support warehouse operations, fleet maintenance, and water system maintenance in the Transmission Distribution & Engineering Divisions. Receives and distributes materials and supplies. Assists Fleet Maintenance Department with pick-up, delivery, and inventory of Shop parts.

1. Performs a variety of tasks to assist the Stocker, including distribution of materials and parts to Pueblo Water employees and contractors; maintenance of related computerized records, generates requisitions for items ordered.
2. Performs flushing of water mains, fire hydrants, service lines, and appurtenances as assigned.
3. Accompanies the Scrap Dealer to the Scrap Yard as necessary to verify empty weight on scrap containers and to sign weight slips verifying weight of loaded scrap.
4. Receives and examines materials and parts to ensure compliance with Pueblo Water's specifications and reports discrepancies to the Stocker. Stores materials in appropriate location within warehouse.
5. Cleans and/or repairs materials and parts that are returned to the stockroom.
6. Loads and unloads materials and parts on trucks and trailers for Pueblo Water employees and contractors. Operates different sizes of forklifts to perform this function.
7. Assists in maintaining warehouse facilities and equipment to ensure a clean, safe work environment.
8. Assists Meter Services by wiring, sealing, and reading meters in warehouse stock as required.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operates Pueblo Water vehicle as necessary.
2. May be required to deliver materials and parts to field locations.
3. Assumes all functions of Stocker as assigned.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Colorado Class "R" driver's license.
• Colorado Class 1 Water DistributionOperator certification, or ability to obtain the certification within one (1) year immediately following the date of entry into the position.
• Must successfully complete continuing education/training unit courses required to maintain certification.
• One year related work experience
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• OSHA approved Forklift Operator Training Certificate, or the ability to obtain within the probationary period.

• Ability to operate various sizes of forklifts.
• Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Moderate interpersonal skills are required to exchange general information and interact informally with co-workers and supervisors.
• Basic knowledge of Pueblo Water's distribution system operations.
• Ability to use two-way radio.
• Basic knowledge of computers and ability to operate software programs for data entry and retrieval and inventory system.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and base maps.
