Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and guide customers politely to products.
2. Stock, merchandise, and correct product displays actively.
3. Build and maintain displays as needed.
4. Maintain standards for perishables and stay updated on safety procedures.
5. Transport goods within the department.
6. Ensure health and safety codes, check pricing and expiration dates, and organize the area.
7. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned and assist in other departments to serve customers.
8. Stay current with safety standards and understand the use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
9. Understand merchandising labels, warehouse codes, reports, and invoices.
10. Follow store policies and procedures, and operate equipment safely.
11. Ensure safety for self, customers, and co-workers; report hazards immediately.
12. Operate equipment like balers, case cutters, and pallet jacks (must be 18+ to operate).
13. Move damaged or unsalable products to the backroom for return processing.

Qualifications

1. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
3. Prior experience in a related field is preferred.

Specific Tasks

1. Lifting, twisting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
2. Maintain signage and pricing accuracy.
3. Care for signs, banners, and clean daily debris.
4. Respond promptly and politely to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors.
5. Use store phone and intercom systems properly.

Work Environment

Indoor environment with temperature and humidity fluctuations due to receiving and exit areas.
