Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Stocker in the Grocery department to keep shelves full, organized, and ready for customers throughout the day. You will unload trucks, restock, assist customers, and help maintain store cleanliness to support a positive shopping experience.

The role offers daytime shifts and on-site employment in a fast-paced retail environment, with training provided for new associates and opportunities to develop important customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.
• No prior experience required—we'll train you for the role.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them find what they need.
• Assist customers with locating products and handling heavy purchases.
• Unload trucks, stock shelves, rotate products for freshness.
• Monitor mis-picked items, stockouts, and mis deliveries; report issues.
• Tag shelves and manage backroom overstock and understock drawers.
• Operate the register for customer purchases as needed.

You may encounter daily exposure to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, and cleaning chemicals or solvents, with occasional exposure to temperature extremes and potential electrical shock. The role involves working with and around heavy store equipment.
