Job summary

Dominion Energy in Virginia is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Associate to support receipting, storage and issuance of materials. The role involves forklift loading/unloading, inspecting incoming goods, and preparing items for shipment.

You will use SAP and handheld scanners, perform inventory counts, and maintain accurate paperwork. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of warehouse experience are required; safety is paramount.

• Ability to operate forklift and obtain/maintain forklift certificate.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload materials using a forklift.

Job Summary

This is an entry level position and is an excellent starting point for a career at Dominion Energy.

This position is responsible for work associated with the receipting, storage, and issuance of materials in a warehouse environment. Responsibilities include the following:

• Loading/ unloading of material using a forklift
• Handling, restocking or scrapping of returned material
• Receiving/ inspecting incoming materials to verify quantity and condition of goods
• Selects and issues items from stock, sorts and identifies materials to be stocked
• Separates and prepares materials for receipt inspection
• Performs SAP system computer functions, some through handheld scanners
• Assist with physical inventory of material
• Ability to use equipment: forklifts, handheld scanners, personnel cart, sweeper machines
• Organizes and files daily paperwork/ receipts associated with materials
• Strong organizational skills needed to manage the volume of paperwork
• Analyze data in Microsoft Excel for material deliveries
• Must be extremely safety conscious and work within Dominion's Safety Guidelines and expectations
• Must be available as needed during emergency restorations (due to such events as hurricanes, etc.) and after-hour emergencies
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience is required or other relevant experience.

• Ability to work an 8-hour workday schedule
• Must work scheduled and emergency overtime as business needs dictate
• Prior experience in operation of forklift - maintain forklift operator certificate administered by Dominion Energy
• Lift up to 75 lbs
• Valid driver's license
• Prior experience using a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be able to work well with others in a safe atmosphere and work environment
• Must be able to travel in the event of catastrophic event
• Prior customer service experience preferred
• Prior experience receiving / inspecting / restocking of inventory preferred
• Knowledge and use of SAP preferred
