Primary Purpose
Manage retail operations for the assigned department, making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality and presentation, and customer service. Build relationships and promote a strong store culture through team huddles, role modeling, and performance management. Ensure store appearance, security, safety, and food safety standards are maintained at the highest level. Accountable for proper control of assets.
Responsibilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment for associates and customers.
- Ensure all quality standards are met.
- Manage department operations according to established practices.
- Maintain department appearance and presentation.
- Hire, train, and develop associates to meet department needs.
- Achieve departmental financial goals.
- Supervise performance of department staff.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Delegate tasks effectively and follow up.
- Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
- Meet physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations.
- Recognize accomplishments and provide constructive feedback.
- Treat all colleagues with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Ensure associates are properly trained.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Develop product knowledge across the department.
- Use RF units as needed.
- Organize product loads and assist with inventory control.
- Conduct performance appraisals.
- Maintain effective work schedules.
- Utilize company tools such as MPP, reports, and systems.
- Follow operational and merchandising standards to maximize profitability.
- Maintain clear communication within the department and organization.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
- Understand and address shrink issues.
- Comprehend the department’s standard practices and manuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate store operations and merchandising knowledge.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organize tasks efficiently and learn technical requirements.
- Use good judgment in problem-solving and dispute resolution.
- Lead and manage department associates effectively.
- Require department manager or equivalent experience.
- Preferably hold a college degree or equivalent.
- Be certified as a Food Safety Manager or attend training to achieve certification within 90 days.
Physical Requirements
- Use computers and communication systems.
- Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 60 lbs. occasionally, and push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.
- Meet activity standards.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25/hr
