Job Description

The ideal team member will control raw material stock levels and manage stock movement, continuously monitoring stock levels and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, considering lead times.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF4)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in FMCG environment
  • Experience in animal feed mill advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage staff to ensure inspections and sampling per quality procedures.
  • Oversee assets including buildings, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Coordinate raw material off-loading schedules.
  • Book raw material loads promptly to minimize truck turnaround times.
  • Order stock timely, considering lead times, stock levels, and marketing input.
  • Adhere to FIFO and storage regulations.
  • Maintain world-class housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments for planning and cost savings.
  • Manage fumigation and disinfection protocols.
  • Take ownership of raw material stocks in storage areas.
  • Conduct daily stock counts to prevent stockouts and ensure product quality.
  • Manage packaging stock to recover costs effectively.
  • Ensure proper management and cleanliness of liquid raw materials and storage facilities.
  • Manage bunkers and silos on an empty-to-empty basis, ensuring regular cleaning.
