Job summary

Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to coordinate and maintain cleanliness and inventory of hotel china, silverware and cookware. You will work with Culinary and F&B teams and manage event orders for banquets.

The role requires strong communication, scheduling, and leadership in a fast paced hotel environment, with benefits and growth opportunities within Hyatt’s Food & Beverage team.

Qualifications

• Able to work any days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Email systems.

Responsibilities

• Delegate daily tasks to Stewards and Food Leads to ensure efficient workflow.
• Demonstrate urgency and attention to detail in stewarding functions.
• Oversee cleanliness standards for back-of-house areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and usage of cleaning chemicals.
• Perform scheduling for the stewarding team for all shifts and events.
• Complete payroll edits and timecard reviews accurately and on time.
• Utilize hotel systems such as HotSOS and Envision to manage tasks and communications.
• Support banquet operations by understanding and executing event orders.
• Maintain inventory levels of equipment and supplies and report shortages or maintenance needs.
• Train, coach, and support team members to uphold hotel standards and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Culinary and F&B leadership to ensure seamless service.

The Stewarding Supervisor is primarily responsible for coordinating and maintaining the cleanliness and proper inventory of all hotel china, silverware and cookware. This person must have good communication with Culinary and F&B. Management skills, ability to understand and effectively execute event orders for banquet functions are also part of the daily role.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail in all stewarding functions
• Oversee cleanliness standards for all back‑of‑house areas, equipment, and storage spaces
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and usage of cleaning chemicals
• Perform scheduling for the stewarding team, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and events
• Complete payroll edits and timecard reviews accurately and on time
• Utilize hotel systems such as HotSOS, Envision, and other property applications to manage tasks, work orders, and communication
• Support banquet operations by understanding and executing event orders
• Maintain inventory levels of equipment and supplies, reporting shortages or maintenance needs
• Train, coach, and support team members to uphold hotel standards and safety procedures
• Collaborate closely with Culinary and F&B leadership to ensure seamless service execution

Qualifications

• Must be able to work any days of the week, including weekends and holidays
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel, Email)
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift, push and pull a moderate amount of weight
