Starwood Hotels is seeking a dedicated Steward to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment in clean, orderly condition, following hotel standards.

You will assist chefs, stock supplies, ensure food safety, rotate stock, and support the kitchen team during peak times. This on-site role requires English communication and physical stamina, with some holiday scheduling.

Qualificações

• Must be able to multitask and stay organized.
• Reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
• Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently and 25 pounds constantly.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment and wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
• Sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and food prep areas per health standards.
• Clean and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring proper chemical levels and temperatures.
• Assist chefs with food prep tasks (washing, peeling, chopping).
• Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
• Transport food items between storage, prep, and cooking areas.
• Empty trash and maintain waste disposal areas.
• Clean and inspect ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigeration units.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors between shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, walk-ins, and freezers.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Receive and store food deliveries per safety protocols and rotate stock (FIFO).
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of needs.
• Ensure proper labeling and dating of stored items.
• Follow all food safety regulations and hotel policies.
• Wear required PPE and maintain personal hygiene for food service.
• Complete required food safety training and certifications.
• Support other kitchen staff during peak service times.

MAIN DUTIES:

AsSteward, you willbe responsible formaintainingkitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties according to hotel standards of procedure.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware
• Sanitize all kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and food preparation areas according to health department standards
• Clean andmaintaindishwashing machines, ensuring proper chemical levels and temperatures
• Assistchefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables
• Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment
• Transport food items and supplies between storage areas, prep areas, and cooking stations
• Empty trash receptacles andmaintainwaste disposal areas
• Clean kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigeration units
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors throughout shifts
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, walk-in coolers, and freezers
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors
• Receive andproperly storefood deliveries according to food safety protocols
• Rotate stock using first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of supply needs
• Ensure proper labeling and dating of stored food items
• Follow all food safety regulations and hotel health policies
• Wearappropriate personalprotective equipment
• Maintainpersonal hygiene standardsrequiredfor food service
• Completerequired food safety training and certifications
• Support other kitchen staff during peak service times
• Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness between meal periods

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Are organized and proficient at multitasking.
