Job summary

Hard Rock Bristol seeks a Steward to support cleaning operations and ensure restaurants are stocked with clean dishes and silverware. You will help prepare food lines, move items from kitchen, and maintain beverage areas to meet business needs.

The role requires willingness to work flexible shifts, pass background checks, and maintain cleanliness to Hard Rock safety standards. Experience in stewarding is typical, with opportunities to mentor team members and enhance guest service.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • One year of progressive experience in the Stewards’ Department is typical.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and kitchen.
  • Prepare and stock food lines and self-service stations; transport items from kitchen.
  • Assist in kitchen with dish washing and food preparation to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Inspect equipment and ensure it meets safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Coordinate with Chef and Director of Food & Beverage; attend meetings and follow up on actions.
  • Load, rotate, and store all food storeroom orders; ensure beverage areas are stocked.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for steward and cleaning operations, ensuring restaurants are supplied with clean dishes and silverware according to business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Bristol d their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service. Follows and maintains department objectives, standards, and guidelines to ensure proper operation of department. Responsible for the preparation and upkeep of food lines and self-service stations. Transport all food items from kitchen to respective areas. Assist in the kitchen with preparation of products and dish washing to ensure an adequate supply of dishes and utensils at all times. Maintain all beverage areas with all necessary beverages. Complete all set-up duties on time. Responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of assigned area and kitchen as required. Assists in the main kitchen with the preparation of various dishes as required. Uses proper transfer slips for all items coming and going to the Kitchen. Load all dinner plates, dessert plates, and bowls in proper areas. Put away and rotate all food storeroom orders. Inspects equipment and ensures all equipment is in working order and up to Hard Rock safety and cleanliness standards; authorizes replacement parts for equipment in the food departments. Maintains open lines of communications with the Chef and Director of Food & Beverage. Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned. Perform work regularly and predictably. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces. Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Attend seminars when needed.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of one-year progressive experience within the Stewards’ Department.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery. Must successfully pass background check. Must successfully pass drug screening. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts. KNOWLEDGE OF: Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. All operations of the Stewards’ Department. ABILITY TO: Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. Deliver programs which create a service level of excellence for internal and external guests. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. Review and comprehend all necessary documentation. Inspect and maintain all areas for which responsible. Stock and retrieve supplies as needed.

PAY RANGE:

$14 - $19/Hourly

The Team Member further understands that conditions may require the Company to modify this Job Description and that the Company reserves the right to exercise its discretion to make such changes.
