Job summary

Compass Group at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA, is seeking part-time Steward staff to maintain cleanliness and support kitchen and event operations.

Responsibilities include cleaning, operating dishwashing equipment, waste handling, and assisting with setup and logistics. Night and holiday availability may be required. No prior experience needed; training will be provided.

• Willing to train.

• Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food-prep surfaces.
• Segregates and removes trash to designated containers; steam cleans or hoses garbage cans as directed.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food prep equipment.
• Transports supplies between storage and work areas observing safe lifting standards.
• Assists with banquet table and front-of-house setup as requested.
• Assists with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

We have an opening for part‑time STEWARD positions at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA. Online applications only.

• Sweeps and mops floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and all other food‑prep surfaces as assigned.
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans as directed.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food preparation machines and equipment.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
• Assists with banquet table and front‑of‑house set up as requested.
• Assists with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Pay

Part‑time; days and hours may vary. Night and holiday availability required.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour.
