An established industry player is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team at the Historical Park. This role involves providing engaging tours and educational programming that highlights local and global history. As a steward of the park, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, making your communication skills crucial. You will assist with various tasks, including tours, event coordination, and collections care. The purpose of this position is to provide assistance, awareness of, and access to the Historical Park by communicating knowledge of local, state, national, and global history through new and ongoing programming, exhibits, and events.
A dynamic team player that provides assistance with school tours, public and private tours, collections preservation, exhibit installation, special events at the park, and other applicable tasks deemed necessary by Historical Park staff.
Must be passionate about the subject matter and be able to effectively communicate to a variety of visitors the history of the structures within the park as well as all events and programs.
Must be able to take direction and follow instruction. Expertise in museum education, events, and/or collections care is not required, but the desire to learn is necessary.
Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance, as Stewards may be the first impression and the only contact the public has with the Historical Park and staff.
Must be willing to work at least ten hours per week and some nights and weekends, lift 50 lbs or heavier, pass a criminal background check, and be able to lead walking tours throughout the park in varying temperatures. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
CPR, First-Aid, and AED certifications preferred. Orientation and training sessions will also be required.
