Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah seeks a Steward to maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas and dishware. Reporting to the Stewarding Manager, you will focus on dishwashing, deep cleaning, and waste disposal to support culinary and banquet operations.

Experience in dishwashing or stewarding is preferred but not required; strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential for a fast-paced resort setting. Onsite position with year-round full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or stewarding experience in a resort, hotel, or restaurant setting preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines to clean all dishes, glassware, silverware, and kitchen utensils efficiently.
• Ensure all kitchen workstations, floors, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
• Assist in deep-cleaning kitchen areas, including ovens, grills, hoods, and drains.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables, ensuring compliance with waste management policies.
• Restock and organize clean dishes, cookware, and utensils for the next service.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining an organized back-of-house environment.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, notifying supervisors of inventory needs.
• Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with resort and state regulations.
• Support banquet and kitchen teams with equipment setup and breakdown as needed.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly.
• Attend mandatory orientations and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time

Pay Rate: $17 - $18/hr. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
