Job summary

Embassy Suites Washington D.C. Georgetown is seeking a dedicated team member to support kitchen and housekeeping operations on-site. The role involves dishwashing, restocking glassware and utensils, and performing routine cleaning to meet health department standards.

Additional duties include stock rotation, trash removal, and assisting with guest requests as needed to maintain a clean, welcoming environment for our guests.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow health department cleaning standards.
• Ability to wash dishes and restock glassware and utensils.
• Ability to rotate stock using FIFO practices.
• Ability to safely remove trash and dispose at loading dock dumpster.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes and other cooking utensils; restocks clean glasses, silverware and plates.
• Performs general cleaning to stay in compliance with health standards.
• Puts away food stock and dry goods in proper locations, rotating first in, first out.
• Removes trash from all containers and transports to loading dock dumpster.
• Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
• Perform other duties as requested, including cleaning spills or guest requests.

Job description

Essential Functions

• Washes dishes and other cooking utensils. Restocks all clean glasses, silverware and plates.
• Performs general cleaning in order to stay in compliance with the health department.
• Puts away food stock, and dry goods in their proper location, rotating “first in”, “first out”.
• Removes the trash from all containers, taking it to the dumpster located on the loading dock.

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills or executing special guest requests.
