Job summary

Omni Houston Hotel is seeking a dedicated Steward to ensure a spotless, sanitary kitchen environment in our luxury property. The role focuses on washing and organizing serving ware, pots, and utensils for all outlets and banquets, while supporting a high-volume, guest-first dining operation.

Strong teamwork and reliability are essential. Previous luxury hotel/restaurant experience is preferred, with the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury hotel/restaurant setting preferred.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Texas Food Handler’s certification required.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, cookware and utensils thoroughly and efficiently to high sanitation standards.
• Break down trays from banquets and outlets.
• Deliver clean cookware and serving ware to various outlets and meeting rooms.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
• Store dishes, cookware and utensils properly.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation within our food and beverage division. Stewards thoroughly wash and neatly store all of the serving ware, cookware and utensils utilized in food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for thoroughly and efficiently washing dishes, pots, cookware and utensils in compliance with Omni’s high sanitation standards
• Responsible for breaking down trays from banquets and the outlets
• Responsible for delivering clean cookware and serving ware to various outlets and meeting rooms
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work station
• Responsible for neatly storing all dishes, cookware and utensils in their proper locations.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous luxury hotel/restaurant experience preferred, high volume.
• Ability and willingness to stand for 8 hours at a time
• Ability and willingness to push pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability and willingness to bend, stretch, and reach
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule which includes working on weekends and holidays
• Previous hotel experience in stewarding is strongly preferred
• Texas Food Handler’s certification required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
