Advance Auto Parts is seeking a skilled Sterling EDI Developer to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and influence the EDI and Managed File Transfer (MFT) roadmap for the company. This position works with IT Enterprise Architecture, Supply Chain, customers and vendors in electronic communication of purchase order, advance ship notice, invoice, and other business data for Advance Auto Parts. As a Sterling EDI Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing EDI solutions that facilitate seamless communication between Advance Auto Parts and its trading partners. This role shares accountability for secure managed file transport (MFT) & EDI including BPML, SI mapping, and will gain exposure to ITX development and Kafka integration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance EDI maps, related interfaces, and data communication scripts using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
- Implement and monitor EDI systems, including data mapping, translation, and interface.
- Provide functional and technical support for existing backend EDI systems running on IBM Sterling Gentran EDI Software.
- Collaborate with relevant application team members to provide analysis and specifications for new EDI documents and changes to existing documents in accordance with ANSI X.12 EDI standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting EDI transactions and workflows, delegating non-EDI issues to appropriate resources.
- Participate in the transition of EDI systems to next-generation environments and review vendor-supplied EDI patches.
- Experience with AS2 and SFTP transport protocols
- Documentation of system design and data flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy and security rules.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years SI EDI technical work experience, including minimum 3 years retail EDI
- Must have 3+ years XML transformation experience
- Strong documented experience with IBM Sterling Integrator (SI) BP and map design, development, and integration – must include BP development from scratch in addition to modifying existing code.
- Experience with of AIX, Linux, Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), Oracle DB, & stored procedure design, development and execution preferred
- Expertise in creating scripts and mapping for transactions conforming to X12 EDI and/or EDIFACT EDI standards.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as FTP, SFTP, AS2.
- Experience with non-EDI integration, such as XML, flat file, web services.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with and influence others
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, prioritization, time management and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to balance multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
