Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterilizer Repair Technician to join our team in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of biomedical equipment used in healthcare settings. This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clinical staff and other departments.

What you will do:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on medical sterilizers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and make necessary repairs.
  • Perform equipment testing and ensure sterilizers are operating safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document completed repairs, maintenance, and service activities.
  • Work directly with hospital staff and other healthcare personnel to address equipment needs.
  • Travel to healthcare facilities as needed to provide on-site service.
  • Complete specialty training on STERIS sterilization equipment to develop expertise in the supported equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Must pass Federal background and drug screen.
  • Experience repairing, servicing, or maintaining medical sterilizers or similar medical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Biomedical equipment experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers and healthcare staff.
  • Willingness to travel to healthcare facilities as required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • STERIS equipment experience or certification is preferred, but specialty training will be provided.

Safety Requirements:
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others if they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility’s policies
  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot & cold ranges of temperature, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish colors
  • Must be able be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinely
