Qualifications

• BLS certification is required for the role.
• Certification must be obtained within 4 months if not current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate sterilization equipment and prepare, assemble, and sterilize instruments per standards.
• Maintain records and monitor quality control and infection control standards.
• Provide asset management and support for surgical instruments and trays.
• Peel-pack and wrap supplies, inspect instruments for use and cleanliness.
• Support staff with required instruments and communicate with OR.
• Report damaged equipment to CSR Coordinator or Director of Surgical Services.
• Share sterilization responsibilities and best practices with nursing staff.
• Clean, set up, sterilize and distribute instruments on each shift.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and Joint Commission standards.
• Follow Standard Precautions and proper waste handling; use protective gear.
• Lift and move instrument trays and equipment up to 25 lbs.
