DENTAL SURGERY CENTER OF OKLAHOMA is seeking a Sterilization Technician to support daily clinic operations and ensure a positive patient experience. Applicants should have a high school diploma and are encouraged to pursue a Dental Assistant license; prior dental experience is preferred. The position is full-time and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Set up and sterilize exam and surgical areas, ensuring sanitary conditions.
• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and moving equipment into place.
• Create, send and track lab cases.
• Monitor, order and maintain budget for dental supplies.
• Update and maintain client dental records / charts.
• Assist in updating patient medical histories and taking vitals as needed.
• Provide patient comfort before, during and after treatment; give oral care instructions.
• Maintain OSHA and HIPAA compliance.

Job PurposeThe Sterilization Technician supports the team by contributing to the day to day operations of the clinic and ensuring a positive experience for patients and staff. This role requires professionalism, dependability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up and clean the exam or surgery area, ensure sanitary conditions, and sterilize surfaces and instrumentsAssisting the dentist during a variety of treatment proceduresTaking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)Preparing examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and moving equipment into placePreventing the spread of infection and disease by maintaining a surgically clean work environmentHelping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatmentProviding patients with instructions for oral care following treatmentTeaching patient’s appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)Create, send and track lab casesMonitor, order and maintain budget for dental suppliesPerforming office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computerAssisting in updating and maintaining client dental records / chartsMaintaining equipment and coordinating any necessary repairsAsking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse as neededProviding support to dentists and other staff as neededMaintaining OSHA and HIPAA complianceDisplays the Enhance core values of Continuous Improvement, Selfless Team-First Attitude, Embrace Change, Conquer the Mountain Mentality and Take InitiativeOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.
