Job summary

Enid-Dentistry in Enid, OK seeks a Sterilization Technician to support the dental team and ensure a clean, efficient clinic. You will set up and sterilize areas, assist the dentist, take and develop dental X-rays, and help patients feel at ease before, during, and after treatment.

You will also manage supplies, update patient records, and maintain OSHA/HIPAA compliance, with a goal of maintaining high-quality infection control and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; working toward Dental Assistant License.
• Experience in dental settings is preferred.
• Ability to maintain sterile environment and support dental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and sterilize exam and surgery areas.
• Assist dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.

Job PurposeThe Sterilization Technician supports the team by contributing to the day to day operations of the clinic and ensuring a positive experience for patients and staff. This role requires professionalism, dependability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up and clean the exam or surgery area, ensure sanitary conditions, and sterilize surfaces and instrumentsAssisting the dentist during a variety of treatment proceduresTaking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)Preparing examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and moving equipment into placePreventing the spread of infection and disease by maintaining a surgically clean work environmentHelping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatmentProviding patients with instructions for oral care following treatmentTeaching patient’s appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)Create, send and track lab casesMonitor, order and maintain budget for dental suppliesPerforming office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computerAssisting in updating and maintaining client dental records / chartsMaintaining equipment and coordinating any necessary repairsAsking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse as neededProviding support to dentists and other staff as neededMaintaining OSHA and HIPAA complianceDisplays the Enhance core values of Continuous Improvement, Selfless Team-First Attitude, Embrace Change, Conquer the Mountain Mentality and Take InitiativeOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.
