Job summary

The University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE CDM) seeks a Sterilization-Dispensary Assistant to join the Oral Health Center. You will support clinical faculty, dental students, and staff by preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining instruments and supplies.

This full-time role (40 hours weekly) offers a starting pay of $19.27 per hour, comprehensive benefits including health and dental plans, retirement match, generous leave, and tuition benefits for employees and dependents.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of dental clinic, hospital clinic, or dental office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments/terminology preferred.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and patients.
  • Experience with computers, printers, and phone operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support clinic operations and maintain inventory.
  • Perform quality assessment of dental instruments.
  • Report equipment failures and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain/record logs related to equipment operations and sterilization.
  • Participate in required training and in-services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The University of New England College of Dental Medicine ( UNE CDM ) is seeking a Sterilization-Dispensary Assistant to join our Oral Health Center ( OHC ). The OHC Sterilization-Dispensary Assistant supports the clinical faculty, dental students, and other clinical support staff. This position reports to the Manager of Central Sterilization and Dental Assisting with a focus on preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with an anticipated pay rate of $19.27 an hour.

Qualifications

High School diploma and any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • 2 or more years of experience in clinic, hospital clinic, or dental office.
  • Preferred knowledge of dental instruments and terminology.
  • Ability to effectively interact with faculty, professional staff, and students, and patients.
  • Experience with computers, printers, copy machine operation, and telephone operation.
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service and contributing to a positive clinical environment.
