Sterile Supply Technician I- Central Sterile Full Time Evening Shift

Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, our Sterile Supply Technicians are valuable members of our team. They perform tasks related to cleaning, sterilization, maintenance, repair, storage, inventory, and delivery of instrumentation, medical supplies, and equipment to operating rooms or clinics.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Cleans, assembles, performs minor repairs, and wraps trays of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization.
  • Disassembles, sorts, cleans, inspects, and processes surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Collects reusable items and dispenses supplies to points of use.
  • Maintains, stores, and inventories surgical supplies.
  • Operates ultrasonic and utility washers, performs daily maintenance.
  • Operates sterilization equipment and maintains records for compliance.
Qualifications

Required: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Evidence of passing a nationally accredited Central Service Technician exam and holding a CRCST or CSPDT credential.

Preferred: High school diploma, hospital experience, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
