Job summary

Solvita is seeking a Central Supply Technician I to provide supplies and sterilized equipment for Central Supply and Processing. You will ensure equipment is washed, inspected, wrapped, sterilized, and stored efficiently while supporting Manufacturing with donor material movement.

Responsibilities include standing with the core team, setting up cleaning rooms per SOP, and training new staff as needed. High school diploma required; CRCST or tissue bank experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CRCST certification is preferred.
  • CTBS or tissue bank experience is preferred.
  • Associates degree preferred.

  • Assist technicians in the core area.

  • Move donor tissue for processing.
  • Support storeroom material flow and kit building.
  • Complete tasks in assigned area timely.
  • Attains daily processing goals for productivity and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Titles: Central Supply Technician I
Shifts are Monday-Friday, 10:00pm - 6:30am
PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provides supplies and sterilized equipment for the Central Supply and Processing operations. Ensures all equipment is washed, inspected, wrapped , sterilized, and stored properly in an efficient and timely manner. Support Manufacturing teams via the movement of donor and all necessary items into the core and cleanroom environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Central Supply Technician I
  1. Adhere to all safety guidelines, training and policies.
  2. Comply with standard work practices throughout all Central Supply operations.
  3. Complete assigned tasks in their assigned area in a timely manner.
  4. Attains daily processing goals relating to productivity and quality.
  5. Obtain all needed supplies and equipment for processing/packaging session in the assigned area.
  6. Assists in room opening and support Manufacturing.
  7. Actively participates with the opening and set-up of the cleaning rooms according to established SOP.
  8. Act in a support role for the technicians by circulating in the core area
  9. Assists in orientation and training of new employees as assigned.
  10. Act as a transcriber for teams as necessary.
  11. Actively participate in the movement of donor tissue for processing.
  12. Supports storeroom material flow and required kit building.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Technician I
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Work within a team setting.
    • Receive and follow directions.
    • Report numbers accurately and monitor error control.
    • Receive and adapt to feedback.

  • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires heavy lifting, continuous levels of standing and is physically demanding.
  • Requires good eye-hand coordination skills.
  • Some areas of Manufacturing may require the ability to work around high magnetic circuits or magnetic fields.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a sterile central supply and delivery environment, tissue bank, or manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
  • Associates degree in related field.
  • Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) or one year of previous tissue bank experience.
  • Knowledge of processing anatomy and sterile techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
