Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks a full-time CTS Sterile Supply Associate to manage inventory in the Central Sterile Supply department in New York. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of inventory-control experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Working knowledge of Lawson, PeopleSoft, and/or Oracle Cloud inventory-control systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
• Experience receiving, tracking, storing, rotating, transferring, and distributing inventory.
• Ability to conduct physical inventories and cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate electronic and manual inventory records.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, move, and place stock safely.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Or a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory to maintain balanced stock levels.
• Receive deliveries and verify quantities.
• Enter, upload, and confirm deliveries in the inventory-control system.
• Unpack, organize, rotate, transfer, and store stock in designated locations.
• Enter and track paper and electronic requisitions for inventory supplies.
• Process departmental requests and distribute supplies accurately and promptly.
• Prepare for and participate in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Compare electronic records with physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Verify inventory calculations, stock balances, receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
• Generate and maintain labels for bins, shelves, and par locations.
• Monitor par levels and assist with replenishment.
• Identify and report shortages, overstock, expired products, damaged supplies, and discrepancies.
• Rotate stock according to expiration dates and established practices.
• Maintain records of receipts, requisitions, transfers, adjustments, and supply distribution.
• Communicate inventory needs to Central Sterile Supply leadership.
• Maintain clean, organized storage areas.
• Use Microsoft Office to prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, and inventory documentation.
• Follow safety and infection-prevention requirements.
• Lift, move, and place supplies in designated locations.
• Perform other duties as required.
