Job Summary

The Sterile Services Lead acts as a liaison between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room (OR), ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of surgical instruments and supplies. Responsibilities include performing quality audits, monitoring instrument availability, resolving instrumentation issues, and supporting staff through training and process improvements. The Lead ensures compliance with sterilization standards and promotes a collaborative environment to achieve high-quality patient care and staff satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in sterile processing or surgical services
• 1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience

Licenses and Certifications

• CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician required
• CIS - Certified Instrument Specialist preferred

Essential Functions

• Manage supplies in all areas of Sterile Processing, maintaining adequate, cost-effective inventory.
• Oversee collection, decontamination, processing, sterilization, storage, and distribution of non-disposable instruments and equipment.
• Conduct quality audits to verify instrument assembly and surgical case preparation accuracy.
• Serve as a technical support, guidance, and training resource for Sterile Processing Technicians.
• Coordinate assembly, sterilization, and delivery of case carts, resolving instrumentation issues promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
